Goldys Brand, Inc. now Sharpens Flat Knives or Flat Blades–blades less than or equal to 24 inches in length only–.

All the Flat Blades we sharpen MUST have straight edges only.  We cannot sharpen curved edge blades on our machine.

Blades up to 24 inches in length

Please fill out our contact form even if you have a machine that is not listed in our table.
We are aware that many flat blades have constraints such as a “Minimum Blade Height” (the name may vary, but the measurement is from the back of the blade for single edged blades to the edge and from the center line of the blade to the edge for double edged blades) that we need to take into account. We will ask if your machine has such constraints before we accept the blade for sharpening so we will not waste your money sharpening a blade that will be below the Minimum Blade Height.

Wood Chipper Blades (Commercial and Residential)

If your specific model has ANY constraints on how to sharpen your blades, please let us know in advance. There are hundreds of models of wood chippers and we depend upon the customer to have the knowledge to provide us with any constraints BEFORE we are given the blades to sharpen.

Specifically for Wood Chipper Blades, we will require a cleaning of the blades before we can sharpen them so that all the dried on sap and dirt can be removed before sharpening. This provides 2 benefits. First, with all that accumulation on the blades from Wood Chippers, it will be almost impossible to get the correct angle to sharpen a blade because this dried on stuff is anything but level. The second benefit it that a clean blade will not clog or even worse ruin our sharpening wheels and cups. This can seriously impact our ability to sharpen flat blades and results in higher costs for us which we must pass along to our customers in the form of higher sharpening fees.

Plastic Granulator Blade Sharpening

We have encountered Plastic Granulator blades that have 2 different bevel angles ground into them. The top bevel is usually 30 or 35 degrees and the bottom bevel is usually some different angle. Because we have to setup the machine differently to grind that bottom bevel it is like grinding another complete edge and will be charged as another edge.
